Zoom burst photography is an effect that makes it look like you're moving towards the subject. Traditionally, it's done with a zoom lens and an open shutter, but like most other effects, it can also be done in Photoshop.

To create this effect, you will need to use a few layers, the Radial Blur tool, and of course—zoom. This tutorial will walk you through all the steps you need to create your own Zoom Burst effect.

If you give this a shot, be sure to share your results over on the Inspiration board.

The next big software update for iPhone is coming sometime in April and will include a Food section in Apple News+, an easy-to-miss new Ambient Music app, Priority Notifications thanks to Apple Intelligence, and updates to apps like Mail, Photos, Podcasts, and Safari. See what else is coming to your iPhone with the iOS 18.4 update.
